Mission
Statement
We create and enhance intelligence by identifying,
describing and automatically tracking patterns of
meaning in text and how these change over time.
Background
Established by Dr Mark Perkins, the company employs
a model based on principles from Discourse Stream
Analysis (DSA) © created in his linguistic
research. This model combines aspects of corpus
linguistics and systemic functional linguistics
together with unique insights about the nature of
real-time text flows. In addition, a systematic
methodology is employed in the definition of
concepts.
Repindex is intended to implement the vision of
describing and measuring messages in texts in real,
historical, or simulated time. In contrast with
other information-based approaches, Repindex takes
account of linguistic features and dimensions such
as modality (social distance and probability),
affective meaning, time, positivity and negativity,
and semantic aspects of grammatical structure.
Business Models
In the initial stages, Repindex services include
setting up the strategic parameters for the client.
There are then two Repindex business models. In the
first, we process data files sent to us and we
negotiate a fee per service. In the second, we can
licence you to produce Repindex outputs. This will
include training of your analysts and installation
of Repindex software in your systems. This simply
consists of downloading the Repindex desktop
application, which may be connected to the
web-based system if also required.
